PC Requirements and Steam Deck
Final Fantasy Resonance on PC needs Windows 11 (64-bit), 8 GB of RAM, a DirectX 12 GPU such as a GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 6400, and 15 GB of storage; that runs it at 1080p and 30 fps on Low, and an RX 5500 XT class card at 1080p and 60 fps on the Highest preset. It is Steam Deck Verified, uses Denuvo, and has full controller support and 40 Steam achievements.
Final Fantasy Resonance needs Windows 11 (64-bit) on PC, with at least a Ryzen 3 2300X or Core i3-8100, 8 GB of RAM, a DirectX 12 graphics card on the level of a GeForce GTX 1650, Radeon RX 6400 or Arc A580, and 15 GB of storage; Square Enix says that runs it at 1920 by 1080 and 30 frames per second on the "Low" preset (Steam, read Oct 24, 2026). For 60 frames per second on the "Highest" preset, the recommended specs ask for a Ryzen 5 2500X and a Radeon RX 5500 XT. The game is Steam Deck Verified (GamingOnLinux, Jul 13, 2026), is sold on Steam and as Xbox on PC, and the Steam version uses Denuvo Anti-tamper.

Read the table closely and something is odd: the minimum and recommended specs name the same Intel processor (Core i3-8100), the same Intel graphics card (Arc A580) and the same NVIDIA card (GeForce GTX 1650), and the same 8 GB of memory. Only the AMD parts change, from a Ryzen 3 2300X and Radeon RX 6400 to a Ryzen 5 2500X and Radeon RX 5500 XT. Square Enix has not explained or corrected it as of Oct 25, 2026, so it is likely an error on the store page; the safe reading is that the AMD parts show the step up. The requirement that stands out is Windows 11, which both tiers list, with no mention of Windows 10.
The free demo (Steam app 4474710) is the simplest test: Steam says its first chapter plays "exactly as it appears in the full version", and its save carries over (Steam, read Oct 24, 2026; Demo and Save Transfer).
Steam Deck
Final Fantasy Resonance is rated Verified on Steam Deck; Santiago Santiago, testing it the day after launch, found it defaulted to 800p on the High setting and pushed it to the maximum, since the game is "not super demanding". Valve rated it Verified on Jul 13, 2026, three months before launch; Valve's report notes that the first launch needs an internet connection, and the Steam Machine is Verified too (GamingOnLinux, Jul 13, 2026; Steam, Oct 24, 2026). SteamDeckHQ found it runs at 60 frames per second on its default High settings, and suggests capping at 45 with the screen at 90 Hz and Ultra settings, which in its testing raised battery life from about 2 hours to 3.5 to 4 hours; it scored the game 5 out of 5 for the Deck (SteamDeckHQ, Oct 20, 2026). RPG Site's earlier test of the demo found the High preset "almost always" above 60, dipping into the 50s during heavy spell effects, and the maximum settings dipping into the 40s; on an ROG Ally it ran at around 100 frames per second at 1080p (RPG Site, Sep 4, 2026).
At maximum settings, Santiago Santiago reports the Deck stays above 60 frames per second most of the time, dropping into the 50s for a split second when a skill's effects fill the screen, which he does not mind in a turn-based game. His advice is to keep the settings and lock the frame rate at 60, or at 45 or lower for more battery: with a 60 cap he expects about 3 hours, and lowering post-processing and shadows to medium saves a little more.
Two small complaints from the same test: the game draws black bars at the top and bottom of the Deck's 16:10 screen, so it effectively plays at 720p rather than 800p, and his first launch crashed once, which a restart of the Deck fixed. Neither is mentioned in Valve's report.
Controls, languages and features
Steam lists full controller support, including DualSense and Steam Input, as well as a keyboard-only option, adjustable difficulty, custom volume controls, and play without timed input (Steam, Oct 24, 2026). The interface and subtitles come in eight languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean), with full audio in English and Japanese only; there is no Russian (Steam). The Visions' 3D cutscenes are voiced in Japanese only on every platform (Shacknews, Oct 20, 2026).
Steam Cloud keeps saves between PCs and the Deck, and the game supports Family Sharing and Steam Trading Cards. It has 40 Steam achievements, 23 visible and 17 hidden, the hidden ones mostly chapter clears (Steam Community, read Oct 25, 2026); see Achievements and Trophies. Bought through the Microsoft Store instead, it is an Xbox Play Anywhere game: one purchase covers Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with cloud saves between them (Microsoft Store, read Oct 24, 2026). There is no save transfer between Steam and Xbox.
Known issues
No patch had been released as of Oct 25, 2026, and Square Enix's Steam posts list no patch notes. Its launch post names two known issues: the minimap and help display can reappear after you hide them, and some CPU configurations produce audio noise (Square Enix on Steam, Oct 22, 2026). The Steam version's Denuvo Anti-tamper requires accepting a third-party license agreement (Steam). How the PC version compares with the consoles is on Platform Differences.
