Veritas
The Veritas are the six armored villains of Final Fantasy Resonance, the Sworn Six: the Veritas of the Dark, the Heavens, the Waters, the Flame, the Earth and the Light. The Veritas of the Dark shatters Grandshelt's Earth Crystal in the opening hours and the party fights the Sworn Six across all eight chapters.
The Veritas are the villains of Final Fantasy Resonance: six armored warriors called the Sworn Six, each named for an element (the Veritas of the Dark, the Heavens, the Waters, the Flame, the Earth and the Light). Square Enix's announce trailer introduces their leader as "a mysterious warrior driven by revenge and shrouded in darkness" who "seeks to shatter the eight crystals that sustain this world", over a dark armored figure walking through flames. In the story's first hours the Veritas of the Dark beats Rain and Lasswell at the Earth Shrine, destroys the Earth Crystal and attacks the Kingdom of Grandshelt, which sets the whole journey of Final Fantasy Resonance in motion. Like the heroes, they come from the first season of the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (Brave Exvius Connection).

Square Enix's Tokyo Game Show trailer shows armored figures in a red, torch-lit hall while a voice says "The Sworn Six will sacrifice and forsake all to achieve their long-sought goal." Reviewers agree the group is more than a set of bosses: Shacknews writes that their motive is "not purely evil" and that a theme of honor runs through the story, and GamingTrend notes that much of their side of the plot comes through flashbacks and meetings of the six villains.
Where the Veritas are fought
Spoilers for Chapters 1 to 7 follow.
The Veritas of the Dark. PSU's review names the armored man at the Earth Shrine Umbra, leader of the Sworn Six; Square Enix's own materials call him only the Veritas of the Dark. RPG Site's walkthrough lists a fight with Umbra on the second floor of Grandshelt Castle in Chapter 1 that "you'll lose after a few turns", so spend nothing on it, and a real fight in the Wandering Lands in Chapter 7, where he is weak to Light and drops the Demon's Ring (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026).
The Veritas of the Heavens. The Outerhaven names him Aether; his ultimate is Heavenly Wind. He is the boss of the Wind Shrine at the end of the Dirnado section in Chapter 2: Game8 lists him at level 18 with 34,000 HP and weak to Ice, and advises giving everyone but Lasswell an Ice Vision (Tronn, Terra or Noctis) and killing his summoned minions fast. He drops the Sylph's Tiara, and returns on the world map in Chapter 7, still weak to Ice, dropping Wind Scroll II (RPG Site).
The other four. As of Oct 25, 2026, no press source Vi.ki may cite gives the personal names of the Veritas of the Waters, the Flame, the Earth or the Light. RPG Site's walkthrough names four more recurring story bosses but does not say which Veritas each one is, and Vi.ki does not guess:
| Boss | Fought (RPG Site) | Weakness | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alluvion | Chapter 3, Water Shrine; Chapter 7, Mt. Reizan | Lightning | Game8: level 26, 48,000 HP; destroy the Prism Cores first; drops the Azure Amulet |
| Ignis | Chapter 4, Weapons Factory (two event fights you cannot win, then the real one); Chapter 7, Mt. Reizan | Water | Game8: level 27, 56,000 HP; Carbuncle reflects his Firaga |
| Tellus | Chapter 5, Nameless Ruins (ends before you can win) and Fina's Psyche; Chapter 7, Forest Path | Wind | Drops the Golem Core, then Earth Scroll II |
| Lux | Chapter 6, Rugged Mountain Pass | Dark | Drops the Halo Ring |

The launch trailer opens on a close-up of an armored helm as the narrator says an ancient force "threatens the eight crystals" and a voice warns "All that you hold dear will be wiped away." PSU adds that the Sworn Six's motives stay a mystery for most of the game, with hints that what the heroes believe about their world is false, and Shacknews says Fina's forgotten past connects to them. What the Veritas want, and who leads them in the end, is told in Story.
The woman who hunts the Veritas of the Dark
Square Enix's cast list includes a woman it names only "??????": "bound by a deep enmity" to the Veritas of the Dark, she travels with Bahamut and mostly uses offensive magic, and teases Rain behind a playful front. Corey Pettit voices her in English and Inori Minase in Japanese (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026). Her name is not given in any source Vi.ki cites as of Oct 25, 2026. The party and the other key people are on Characters.
