Lid
Lid is the airship engineer of Final Fantasy Resonance, a 16-year-old from Dirnado who fights alongside Mechabo, the mechanical chocobo she built; she is a Commando who joins in Chapter 2 at Dilmagia's shipyard, and is voiced by Elsie Lovelock in English and Ayaka Ohashi in Japanese.
Lid is the fourth party member of Final Fantasy Resonance: an inventor and airship engineer who joins in Chapter 2 and fights with Mechabo, a mechanical chocobo of her own making. In IGN's early boss footage she says "Let's do this thing" and calls "March of the Machines", her first Limit Burst, and a swarm of golden mechanical chocobos crashes into the enemy. Square Enix's profile makes her an engineer from Dirnado, the Continent of Wind, who works her family's forge with her brother and is a contender to become the next Cid, the title Dilmagia gives each era's finest engineer (RPG Site, Jul 17, 2026). She is 16 (Worthplaying, Oct 20, 2026). Elsie Lovelock voices her in English and Ayaka Ohashi in Japanese.

Stats and role
Lid is sturdy for a damage dealer: in Game8's maximum stats her Stamina is second only to Rain's, and her Strength and Magic are close together (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026):
| HP | MP | Strength | Stamina | Magic | Spirit | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5,333 | 487 | 339 | 515 | 360 | 326 | 329 |

Game8 says she "scales well with both physical and magic damage", so she can be built for whatever the party lacks (Game8). DualShockers ranks her sixth of eight but values her for staggering: Overclock, and Mechamog Scan, which adds a random elemental weakness to an enemy and can be cast again. GameRant's Sephiroth guide opens that fight with Mechamog Scan on the first turn, because the added weakness lasts the whole battle (GameRant, Oct 24, 2026).
Her Limit Bursts are March of the Machines (one bar, damage to all enemies with a chance to Confuse) and Enterprise Airstrike (two bars, all enemies) (Game8, read Oct 25, 2026).
Mechabo
Mechabo fights beside Lid with its own skills: Square Enix's Pixel Trailer shows "Mechabo Kick", the yellow robot chocobo leaping at a horned beast with Rain, Lid, Sakura and Jake in the party. Mechabo learns new skills, such as Mechabo Tackle and Overclock, through a chain of side quests (Game8, updated Oct 23, 2026). PowerPyx sets out the three steps, which together earn the "Mechabo Mania" trophy (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026):
| Quest | When | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Arise, Mechabo! | Chapter 2, after the Mobliz Shipyard | Talk to Verun at the Dwarven Forge; get 2 Dynamo Stones from the Ipooh bears outside |
| Mechabo Evolved | Chapter 2 on | Beat 3 Dhorme Chimerae (northeast of Grandport), 3 Medusae (southwest of the Dwarven Forge), 3 Destroyers (western Olderion Federation) and 3 sandworms (southern Zoldaad) |
| Mechabo Unleashed | After Chapter 5 | Beat 3 Mahadevas (Mysidia's western island) and 3 Malbodooms (western Gronoa, Chapter 6 on), then talk to Verun on the airship |

At Mt. Thunderclap in Chapter 2 Lid offers a ladder shortcut for 1,000 gil. Game8 says not to pay: the long route gives experience, and the shortcut's Cape of the Raiju and Tablet Shard can still be reached through the Back Entrance (Game8, updated Oct 21, 2026).
Best Visions and builds
IGN's Vision guide calls Cloud "Lid's ultimate pairing", since both love critical hits and staggering. Her Overclock and Overclock Zero boost the damage and stagger power of the next three Mechabo skills by 150% and 300%, but Mechabo then cools down for two turns, and Cloud's spellblade attacks cover those turns.
- Game8 leads with Firion: Arms Akimbo for two actions a turn and Bladeblitz to clear groups for 0 MP. Alternatives: Squall, Tidus (First Strike for early staggers), Bartz, Sephiroth and Zidane (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026).
- Destructoid picks Tidus or Terra (Destructoid, Oct 24, 2026).
- Early on, Game8's party plans give her Terra in Chapter 2, Tronn or Terra in Chapter 3 and Terra in Chapter 4 (Game8, updated Oct 23, 2026).
Dialogue stat choice
At the Dilmagia Shipyard, Lid's dialogue choice gives a permanent Strength +3, Magic +3 or Stamina +3 (GameRant, Oct 23, 2026). Pick the stat that matches how you build her.
Substory: Beyond the Blue
Lid's substory starts by talking to the Chairman at the Dilmagia Shipyard; PowerPyx places it in Chapter 5. Take the left elevator to the northwest part of the Mobliz Shipyard, return to Dilmagia, talk to Evan on the airship and then to the Chairman again. It ends with a fight against Typhon, and rewards Chocobo Nitro with a permanent HP +100, MP +30, Strength +25 and Magic +25 (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026; PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). Her ultimate weapon, the Mechabo Hammer SUPER, comes from Aileen's forge (Crafting and Adamantite); the airship itself is on Chocobo and Airship.
