Sakura
Sakura is the sage of Mysidia in Final Fantasy Resonance, an ageless mage who looks young but may be very old; she is a Commando who joins in Chapter 5 in Mysidia, has the highest Magic of the eight party members, and is voiced by AmaLee in English and Aoi Yuki in Japanese.
Sakura is the party's strongest mage in Final Fantasy Resonance: a Commando who joins in Chapter 5, when you reach the hidden city of Mysidia, with the highest Magic in the game. IGN's Vision guide calls her "a really powerful mage" and pairs her with Shantotto, whose Area Effect Adept lets her hit every enemy at full power and whose Dualcast lets her cast two black or white magic spells in one turn. Square Enix's profile describes a sage of Mysidia, the Magiapolis, who looks young but may be very old, and whose origins are unknown (RPG Site, Aug 24, 2026); Shacknews calls her ageless. AmaLee voices her in English and Aoi Yuki in Japanese.

Stats and role
Sakura is a glass cannon. Game8's maximum stats give her the highest Magic, and the lowest HP and Speed, of the eight (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026):
| HP | MP | Strength | Stamina | Magic | Spirit | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4,275 | 596 | 349 | 311 | 540 | 411 | 252 |

DualShockers ranks her fifth of eight and the strongest caster, with Dark, Light, Lightning, Flare and Meteor. IGN's combat guide groups her with Fina as the characters with "higher base magic attack", against physical attackers such as Rain, and warns that elemental attacks can be physical or magical, so check which stat a skill uses before you build her around it.
Her Limit Bursts are Eternal Veil (one bar, a barrier on the whole party that blocks one hit) and Sakura's Ultima (two bars, non-elemental magic on all enemies) (Game8, read Oct 25, 2026). Eternal Veil is a late-game lifesaver: PowerPyx's plan for Ultima Weapon has Sakura raise it before every Ultima Beam, with Fina's Entrust passing her Limit Burst to Sakura for a second Veil; in that party Sakura carries Terra, whose Ribbon guards her against status ailments, and the Roselia (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).
Best Visions and builds
- IGN pairs her with Shantotto for group damage, adds Terra's Break the Limit so Shantotto's skills such as Salvation Scythe pass the damage cap, and names Terra as the alternative for her elemental coverage, Sharp Mind and Magic Boost, swapping between the two by fight (IGN, Oct 23, 2026).
- Game8 leads with Firion for two spells a turn. Alternatives: Terra (Ultima and magic-damage passives), Y'shtola (Magic Barrage), Tronn (lower MP costs), Onion Knight and Shantotto (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026).
- In Chapter 5, Game8's party plan uses Sakura or Lid beside Rain, Nichol and Fina (Game8, updated Oct 23, 2026).
The break-the-cap trick matters: damage stops at 9,999 until Terra's Break the Limit (her Mastery Rank 9 ability) raises it to 99,999 (GameRant, Oct 24, 2026). More on Best Visions and Abilities, AP and Mastery Rank.
Finding Sakura
Spoilers for Chapter 5 follow.
Mysidia is a legendary city of mages that some believe fell to ruin, said to hold the Ice Crystal (RPG Site). With the airship in Chapter 5, GameSpot says to press the right trigger to ping the airship's radar and fly to the far south, between the Kingdom of Pharm and two small islands, then a little further south and ping again (GameSpot, Oct 22, 2026). In Mysidia, go into Sakura's house and she joins (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026).
IGN's reviewer names Sakura and Nichol "the better-written characters who fit the RPG mold so well". At the Village of Sunioo in Chapter 5, her dialogue choice gives a permanent MP +10, Magic +3 or Spirit +3 (GameRant, Oct 23, 2026); Magic adds to her strength, Spirit to her survival.
Substory: Mysidia, Ever Blooming
Talk to a boy in Mysidia once Chapter 6 begins. The substory takes you to the forbidden wing of the Arcane Library, the top of the Tower of Mysidia and the island northwest of the Cavern of Swords, then to a gravestone east of the Mysidia Potion Factory. It rewards the Amulet of Magic Absorption with a permanent HP +100, MP +30, Magic +30 and Spirit +20 (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026). Her ultimate weapon, Roselia, comes from Aileen (Crafting and Adamantite).
