EXP, Gil and MRP Farming
The best early EXP farm in Final Fantasy Resonance is the Metal Minituar near the Dwarven Forge on Dirnado, the best early MRP farm is the Cactuar in Zoldaad's southern desert (Chapter 4, 220 MRP a fight), and gil comes fastest from Gil Snappers, Overkill finishes and Vaan's Double Gil; end fights with a Stagger Finish for more MRP and take no damage for more EXP.
Farming in Final Fantasy Resonance comes down to the three bonuses on the battle result screen: finish a fight without taking damage for more EXP, finish it with a Stagger for more MRP (the points that raise a Vision's Mastery Rank), and Overkill it for more gil (Game8, updated Oct 21, 2026). Davidvinc RPGs puts it as his second tip: grind on weaker monsters you can earn the bonuses on rather than tougher ones with bigger base rewards, and slow a fight down if that is what it takes to end it with a stagger, since a stagger finish usually brings the Overkill too. Then pick the right place for each chapter, below. You do not have to grind to finish the story: Square Enix's estimate of 30 to 40 hours for the main campaign (Siliconera, Oct 15, 2026) assumes normal fighting, and the level cap is 99 (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026).

EXP farming
Chapter 1. Game8 calls the desert west of Kol "the best location to farm for EXP": a Chimera group gives 300 EXP and a group of two Desert Sahagins with a Chimera 390. It advises switching to Casual, because the Chimera hits hard even at the demo's level cap; Siren's Tower, at about 150 to 160 EXP a group, is the fallback (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026). The demo stops at level 15, so a demo save arrives at the full game capped there (FinalBoss, Oct 16, 2026).
Dirnado: the Metal Minituar. Primalliquid's EXP farm, which he presents as a Chapter 2 farm (his footage was recorded during Chapter 4), is built on a rare enemy on Dirnado. His Libra card shows it: Metal Minituar, level 18, 3 HP, with the traits "Extremely durable", "Has high evasion" and "Awards a large amount of EXP" (Primalliquid, Oct 23, 2026). Three HP and high evasion mean every hit that lands counts as one point, so it is about hitting at all, not hitting hard.
He fast-travels to the Dwarven Forge on Dirnado, the Continent of Wind, and fights on the rocky ground around it.
His battle results there: a pair of Medusae gives 1,147 EXP with the No Damage Bonus, 1,300 gil and 60 MRP, and a fight in which he kills a Metal Minituar gives 2,500 EXP. The video is titled for over 200,000 EXP an hour; that is his claim, not a measured figure.
Late game. Game8 points late leveling at the Crystal Tower, and PowerPyx at Dragon's Maw's forest island, open from Chapter 5 with a recommended level of 55, where the Metal Gigantuar spawns: 8 HP, high evasion, and it flees, so PowerPyx uses Dualcast and Ultima on it (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026; PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). Beating one earns the hidden achievement Priceless Experience.
Gear helps everywhere. The pre-order Chestplate of Preparation raises EXP from battle (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026), and from Chapter 6 the airship shop sells the Adept's Armlet, double EXP for its wearer (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026).
MRP farming
MRP raises a Vision's Mastery Rank, up to 9, and it is tracked for each character and Vision pair: Cloud at Mastery Rank 9 on Rain is Mastery Rank 0 on Lasswell (PowerPyx). Mastery brings permanent stat gains and abilities the character keeps, so it is the grind that pays most; see Abilities, AP and Mastery Rank.
Chapter 4: the Cactuar. Game8's best MRP spot is the southern desert of Zoldaad, where a Cactuar gives 220 MRP, or 286 with the Stagger Finish Bonus (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026). Primalliquid's Chapter 4 MRP farm shows its Libra card: level 30, 666 HP, "Has high evasion", "Awards a large amount of MRP" and "Has high evasion, but stops evading while staggered", with a Mist Ether to steal and a Magicite Shard as its rare steal (Primalliquid, Oct 23, 2026). So stagger it first, then hit it.
His result screen for one Cactuar fight reads 1,333 EXP with the No Damage Bonus, 111 gil and 220 MRP, the figure Game8 gives.
His map marks the spot in Zoldaad Empire Territory during Chapter 4. Game8's Chapter 1 MRP table also lists a rare 40 MRP enemy west of Kol, which its text calls a Minituar and its table a Cactuar.
Magic Pots. IGN's "9 Things" video calls the dungeon pots "a massive MRP payout" in exchange for "a simple item, usually an Ether or its Mist equivalent", a way to level unused Visions without grinding, and adds: because there is no risk of damage, switch to Expert just before the encounter for a 1.5 times MRP boost. GameRant names them the Citrine Pot (Siren's Tower and Mobliz Shipyard) and the Viridian Pot (Wind Shrine), which cannot be hurt and want an Ether, later a Mist Turbo Ether (GameRant, Oct 22, 2026). Game8 lists Siren's Tower's Citrine Pot as a one-time fight (Game8).
More MRP per fight. Expert difficulty awards more MRP (Game8, updated Oct 24, 2026). The Digital Deluxe Edition's Mastery Ring raises MRP from battle, by Steam's description; RPG Site says it "boosts Vision affinity" (Steam, read Oct 24, 2026; RPG Site). The Vision Victoria's mastery bonuses include MRP Gain +50% and Drop Rate Up (DualShockers, Oct 23, 2026). DualShockers also says to swap Visions often early, while Mastery Ranks are cheap, because costs rise steeply and later enemies give more MRP (DualShockers, Oct 22, 2026).
Gil farming
Gil is rarely short: The Outer Haven calls it plentiful and notes old gear sells (The Outer Haven, Oct 20, 2026). The big costs are late: 35,000 gil for the Merchant Ship's Adamantite (see Crafting and Adamantite), 40,000 and 45,000 gil for the Ancient Cloak and Ancient Tome in Chapter 8 (PowerPyx), and 12,000 gil for the Foe Attractor.
- Overkill on Casual. Hitting a defeated enemy again during a Sweeping Stagger gives Overkill, 1.3 times the gil; Game8 farms on Casual since no trophy depends on difficulty (Game8, updated Oct 23, 2026).
- Gil Snappers. Mini Gil Snapper on the western edge of the Olderion Federation (Chapter 3), Gil Snapper in Mysidia (Chapter 5), King Gil Snapper in the Kingdom of Pharm (Chapter 7). They counter physical hits, so stagger them with Ice: Y'shtola's spells or Shiva (Game8). PowerPyx lists the King at level 49, weak to Ice and absorbing other elements (PowerPyx). The first King Gil Snapper kill earns the hidden achievement Struck Gold.
- Steal Golden Shells. Zidane's Steal takes a Small Golden Shell from the Mini, with rarer Golden and Large Golden Shells from the bigger two, all to sell. Brigand's Gloves (4,000 gil, airship shop, Chapter 5) raise the steal rate, and Zidane's Treasure Hunter, at Awakening level 3, guarantees the rare item on a successful steal (Game8).
- Vaan's Double Gil. Raise Vaan, from his Sanctum in northern Mysidia (Chapter 5), to Mastery Rank 9 (Game8).
- Tonberries. In the Gronoa Shrine in Chapter 6 they drop about 9,500 gil and good EXP (Game8).
- Blessed Cuirass. The early purchase bonus armor raises gil from battle; claim it from the postbox in front of Mitra's inn (RPG Site; Steam).
Two achievements count gil. Gil Comes and Goes wants 100,000 gil spent in shops, and PowerPyx's trick is to save, spend it all, then reload; Making Lid Proud wants 1,000,000 gil earned in total, for which PowerPyx farms King Gil Snappers, uses Vaan's Double Gil, or saves and sells everything (PowerPyx).
Encounter rate and speed
The Foe Attractor raises the encounter rate: 12,000 gil at the Colosseum shop after the Fledgling League (Game8). IGN's "9 Things" video notes sprinting raises encounters too, and that Triangle (or your platform's button) speeds up battle animations (IGN, Oct 21, 2026). The minimap's encounter wave turns redder as a fight nears (The Outer Haven).
Before grinding at all, KultZ checks what is left to do: side quests, collection routes and extra encounters already pay out, and a fight with a bigger reward "isn't always more effective" if it takes longer or keeps knocking out the party. Once a character is capped, make sure the Vision you want to raise is the one equipped (KultZ, Oct 17, 2026).

Final Fantasy ResonanceFinal Fantasy Resonance is Square Enix's first HD-2D Final Fantasy, made with Lancarse: a turn-based RPG that retells the first season of the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, released on Oct 22, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows (Steam). Rain, Lasswell and Fina race to protect the world's Crystals, helped by Visions, echoes of heroes from across the series. -
Abilities, AP and Mastery RankIn Final Fantasy Resonance a character learns abilities from the Vision they equip as its Mastery Rank rises from 0 to 9 with MRP from battles; learned abilities stay with that character and are equipped within an AP budget that grows with Mastery Rank, while Magicite awakens a Vision to three stars for stronger skills. -
Crafting and AdamantiteCrafting in Final Fantasy Resonance means Aileen the weaponsmith forging one ultimate weapon per party member, eight in all, each from one Adamantite; she opens after the sub quest "Forger of Wills" in Dilmagia and works on the airship deck, and the eight Adamantite come from the Colosseum (three), the Merchant Ship (35,000 gil), the Oblivion Palace (80 and 89 Tablet Shards), the airship's treasure radar and a chest on the Rugged Mountain Path.
-
Beginner's GuideTo start well in Final Fantasy Resonance, give every party member a Vision and keep swapping them to learn their abilities, find each enemy's weakness with Libra and stagger it before it acts, keep a healer in the party, pick up the glowing Tablet Shards for the Oblivion Palace, search off-screen paths for chests, and change the difficulty whenever you like. -
Best Early ChoicesIn Final Fantasy Resonance's first two chapters, take Warrior of Light for Rain, Cloud for Lasswell and Leah for Fina, awaken Leah then Cloud first, grab the free Flamberge, Iwakirimaru and the hidden Black Garb before buying gear, choose Strength for Rain and MP for Fina in the dialogue choices, do every Chapter 1 sub quest, turn 12 Tablet Shards into the Stagger Ring, and claim your purchase bonuses from the postbox by the inn in Mitra.
-
Difficulty SettingsFinal Fantasy Resonance has three difficulty settings, Casual, Normal and Expert, and you can switch between them at any time under Options, Gameplay. Expert makes enemies stronger but awards more MRP for leveling Visions, and no trophy or achievement depends on difficulty.
