Missables
Final Fantasy Resonance has almost nothing you can miss: no achievement is missable, every Vision, Esper, Cave Master, Tablet Shard and Legendary Arm stays available in free roam after the story, and a clear save puts you back before the final boss. The exceptions sources name are chests in one-time dungeons such as Grandshelt Castle, the Citrine Pot fight in Siren's Tower, permanent dialogue stat choices, a few rare steals past the point of no return, and (by Game8's account) the Genji Gloves.
Final Fantasy Resonance has very little you can miss, and nothing that blocks an achievement. PowerPyx (Oct 21, 2026) counts zero missable trophies, and says every Vision, Esper, Cave Master, Tablet Shard, Legendary Arm and party member can still be collected in free roam after the story (PowerPyx). DualShockers (Oct 22, 2026) goes further and says the game "contains zero missable content". Game8 (updated Oct 24, 2026) disagrees on a few small things: chests in dungeons you only visit once, the Citrine Pot fight in Siren's Tower, and the Genji Gloves that Gilgamesh steals halfway up that tower. All of these are covered below, with each source's view.

What Game8 lists as missable
| What | Where | Why it can be missed |
|---|---|---|
| Chests in one-time dungeons | For example Grandshelt Castle, Chapter 1 | The dungeon closes when you finish it |
| Black Garb chest | Grandshelt Castle: beat Hell's Rider, then go through the hidden wall by the knight statue | Same: one visit only |
| Citrine Pot fight | Siren's Tower and similar dungeons | Each appears once; give it an Ether for a lot of Mastery Rank Points |
| Genji Gloves | Chest halfway up Siren's Tower, Chapter 1 | Gilgamesh steals them in an unwinnable fight |

Game8's Chapter 1 advice follows from this: explore Grandshelt Castle fully before you rescue the King, because you cannot go back for a while (Game8). DualShockers says the opposite of the whole list, that you can "revisit every dungeon" and "loot every treasure chest down the line". Nobody disputes that the cost of missing any of these is small: a chest of gear, one MRP bonus fight.
The Genji Gloves
The Genji Gloves are the item people search for most, because Gilgamesh takes them from you. Halfway up Siren's Tower a chest holds them, then Gilgamesh appears, fights a battle you cannot win, steals the gloves and jumps out of a window. Game8's missables list counts them as lost, and its Gilgamesh page says they cannot be taken back in Siren's Tower (Game8, Oct 22, 2026), though the missables page now adds that he may return when you open related chests.
RPG Site says the gloves come back: the event fight with Gilgamesh on the airship deck in Chapter 5 rewards the Genji Gloves and starts the Battle at the Big Bridge sub quest (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026). In Sirloin's footage of that fight the game's unit info shows Gilgamesh at level 40 with 54,000 HP, "Extremely difficult to stagger", with no item drop listed (only a Shuriken to steal, and a rare Fuma Shuriken), so if RPG Site is right the gloves are a story reward rather than a drop. After the fight he talks about bridges being the key to his memories.
Square Enix's own Gilgamesh Video shows the same airship deck fight and, a few seconds later, his shout of "BIG BRIDGE!": the Battle at the Big Bridge sub quest has you visit bridges around the world and ends in a real fight on the last one for the Genji Armor (RPG Site). Either way, nothing you do in Siren's Tower changes the outcome. The full story is on Gilgamesh.
Permanent dialogue choices
Each party member gets one dialogue choice that permanently raises a stat; it cannot be undone unless you reload a save from before it (Game8). GameRant (Oct 23, 2026) lists them:
| Character | Where (chapter) | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Rain | Earth Shrine (1) | Strength +3, Stamina +3 or Spirit +3 |
| Fina | Siren's Tower (1) | MP +10, Stamina +3 or Spirit +3 |
| Lid | Dilmagia Shipyard (3) | Strength +3, Magic +3 or Stamina +3 |
| Nichol | Aquapolis (3) | HP +30, Magic +3 or Speed +3 |
| Lasswell | Rebel Hideout (4) | MP +10, Strength +3 or Speed +3 |
| Jake | Zoldaad Castle (end of 4 or 5) | HP +30, Strength +3 or Stamina +3 |
| Sakura | Village of Sunioo (5) | MP +10, Magic +3 or Spirit +3 |
| Archwitch Fina | Research Center Ruins (6) | MP +10, Magic +3 or Spirit +3 |
Source: GameRant. Game8 prefers the MP option for Fina and Strength for Lasswell and Jake. GameRant places Jake's choice in Chapter 5 and Game8 at the end of Chapter 4.
What does not matter: the answers you give in a Vision Sanctum change nothing (GameSpot, Oct 22, 2026), abilities can be swapped at any time, and difficulty can be changed in the settings whenever you like (Game8; see Difficulty Settings).
Other things that do not wait
RPG Site, which otherwise agrees that no important or achievement item is missable, lists a few small things that are time-limited:
- Some optional dialogue and Active Time Chats only play at certain points in the story.
- Equipment shops refresh their stock each chapter, so buy what you want before moving on.
- Merchant ship stock rotates, and some items may not return.
- Three rare steals exist only past the point of no return: Necronomicon from Belphegor, Demon's Ring from Gluttony and Jackpot Gun from Demon Squid.

The point of no return
The point of no return is the last teleport of the Crystal Tower in Chapter 8: the Upper Reach portal next to the save point (Game8; RPG Site). Game8 says to finish side quests and collect your best equipment and collectibles before you step on it. Even then nothing is truly lost: after the credits you make a clear save that puts you back just before the final boss (Game8, Oct 24, 2026), with free roam of the whole map, every quest and every collectible, as PowerPyx describes. There is no New Game Plus, so a new game starts from nothing.
Frequently asked questions
Does Final Fantasy Resonance have missable trophies or achievements? No. PowerPyx lists 0 missable trophies, and every achievement can be finished after the story from the clear save. Difficulty does not matter either: everything can be earned on Casual.
Can you get the Genji Gloves back in Final Fantasy Resonance? Sources disagree. Game8 lists the gloves as missable after Gilgamesh steals them in Siren's Tower; RPG Site says the Chapter 5 fight with Gilgamesh on the airship deck gives them back.
What is the point of no return in Final Fantasy Resonance? The last teleport in the Crystal Tower, the Upper Reach portal next to the save point, in Chapter 8. After the credits, a clear save returns you to just before the final boss.
Can you go back to Grandshelt Castle? Game8 says Grandshelt Castle in Chapter 1 is a one-time dungeon, so its chests, including the hidden Black Garb, should be opened before you rescue the King. DualShockers says every dungeon can be revisited.
Do dialogue choices matter in Final Fantasy Resonance? Only for stats. Each of the eight party members has one choice that permanently adds HP, MP or a stat; there are no story branches, and Sanctum answers change nothing.
Is there free roam after the ending? Yes. Resonance gives you a clear save before the final boss and the whole world, including Ultima Weapon and the rest of the post-game. There is no New Game Plus.
