Music and Soundtrack

Final Fantasy Resonance's music is composed and arranged by Elements Garden, the group led by Noriyasu Agematsu, who scored Final Fantasy Brave Exvius; the game adds 33 new tracks to Brave Exvius's music, the Original Soundtrack is a 4-CD set of 120 tracks out Oct 28, 2026, and the image song is "INSIDE" by WurtS.

Final Fantasy Resonance's music is by Elements Garden, the composer group led by Noriyasu Agematsu, who composed and arranged 33 new tracks to sit beside the music of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026). IGN's reviewer Michael Higham says the music "played a large role in Resonance ultimately winning me over": town themes whose instruments evoke "a brutal industrialized empire or a mystical city floating in the sky", and battle themes through which he "realized that Brave Exvius's great soundtrack was here all along". The full score comes out on its own as a 4-CD, 120-track Original Soundtrack on Oct 28, 2026, and the image song of the trailers is "INSIDE" by the Japanese artist WurtS.

Composer: Elements Garden and Noriyasu Agematsu

Square Enix credits the music of Resonance to Elements Garden, the Japanese composer and arranger group led by Noriyasu Agematsu (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026); the Japanese staff list names Elements Garden for the sound (Denfaminicogamer, Jul 16, 2026). It is the same team that scored the mobile original: Agematsu made his Final Fantasy debut on Brave Exvius, whose first soundtrack album came out on Feb 26, 2016 with 42 tracks, mostly his own compositions plus arrangements of Nobuo Uematsu's series themes such as the "Prelude" (RPGFan, Aug 26, 2016). One More Game adds that Resonance also uses melodies from earlier Final Fantasy games (One More Game, Sep 4, 2026).

What is new and what returns

Resonance keeps Brave Exvius's music and adds 33 new tracks written for it. What reviewers single out:

  • The battle theme. The main battle theme reworks Brave Exvius's (Nintendo Everything, Oct 20, 2026).
  • Gilgamesh. His fight uses a rendition of "Battle on the Big Bridge" (Nintendo Everything, Oct 20, 2026); see Gilgamesh.
  • The Visions' own music. IGN says each Sanctum of Light plays its legacy hero's music.
  • Remixes and boss themes. IGN describes a dungeon theme remixed into electronic music and a boss theme that mixes piano jazz with orchestral metal.

IGN's review describes the Sanctums where Visions are recruited: "you never really know which shrine belongs to who, so when their music kicks in, it had me grinning ear to ear". As a fan of Final Fantasy 14's Shadowbringers, the reviewer singles out hearing "Tomorrow and Tomorrow" as the moment Resonance "got me".

The same review praises a "remix of a dungeon theme that turns into a bouncy electronic tune" and a boss theme that mixes "piano jazz with orchestral metal, a double bass drum pedal, and a Latin choir", concluding that "sometimes music resonates more powerfully than words". Music is among the strengths reviews named most often, with the combat, the Visions and the HD-2D art (Nintendo Life, Oct 2026; Reviews and Reception).

Nintendo Life's Switch 2 review hears it the same way: "along with a slew of dozens of original songs, the soundtrack features the remixed return of plenty of iconic Final Fantasy themes", which go "a long way towards solidifying the sense that you're playing a long-lost entry from earlier in the series".

The Original Soundtrack

Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy Resonance Original Soundtrack on Aug 24, 2026: four CDs and 120 tracks, the new tracks plus the ones from Brave Exvius, released on Oct 28, 2026, six days after the game, with pre-orders opening in Japan first (RPG Site, Aug 24, 2026). The same 120-track CD is part of the Collector's Edition's goods box (RPG Site, Oct 21, 2026), sold at $209.99 by the Square Enix Store and ¥25,500 by Square Enix's Japanese e-STORE (Famitsu, Sep 17, 2026; Release Date, Price and Editions). RPG Site's announcement gave no track list.

"INSIDE" by WurtS, the image song

The image song credit "WurtS 'INSIDE'" appears in the corner of Square Enix's Japanese Final Trailer as the party walks between stone statues toward a ruin; the English Tokyo Game Show Trailer released the same day carries the same song and credit. Square Enix released the Final Trailer on Sep 17, 2026, framing the story as one of revenge and bonds around the Crystals, with "INSIDE" as its image song (Famitsu, Sep 17, 2026).

Real Sound describes "INSIDE" as a grand, weighty, anthemic rock song. It is track 5 of WurtS's first mini album, SPARK, released on Oct 21, 2026, the day before the game; a WurtS and Final Fantasy Resonance trading card set was announced as a bonus with the album at the Universal Music Store (Real Sound, Sep 17, 2026). WurtS is a solo artist active since 2021 who writes, arranges and produces his own songs, artwork and videos (Famitsu, Sep 17, 2026).
