Chapter 7 Walkthrough

Chapter 7 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Reckoning, is a run of rematches: Aether when the chapter opens, Ignis and Alluvion on Mt. Reizan, Tellus on the Forest Path and Umbra in the Wandering Lands, with the Town of Sian, the Esper Bahamut and the Visions Charlotte and Ayaka on the side. It has 8 Tablet Shards and leads straight into the final chapter.

Chapter 7 of Final Fantasy Resonance, "Reckoning", is the chapter of rematches: you face Aether as it opens, then Ignis and Alluvion on Mt. Reizan, Tellus on the Forest Path and Umbra in the Wandering Lands, each stronger than before. RPG Site (Adam and Bryan Vitale, Oct 22, 2026) says a tornado south of the Kingdom of Pharm starts the chapter and the Aether fight; in Sirloin's run the fight happens on the airship deck after a talk with Lid. On the side there is the Town of Sian, the Esper Bahamut and two more Visions. The chapter is short on collectibles: PowerPyx counts 8 Tablet Shards.

Spoilers for Chapter 7 follow: the places and the bosses you fight.

Aether

Aether is weak to Ice, as he was in the Wind Shrine, and this time drops a Wind Scroll II (RPG Site). Lasswell favors ice (Game Informer, Oct 20, 2026), and Tronn's Resonance Hibernal Fury is Ice (Game8). In the footage the party facing him is Lasswell, Rain, Nichol and Archwitch Fina, and Aether opens with whirling green wind attacks.

Sub quests and Visions on the way

Two Visions come from Chapter 7 sub quests (PowerPyx), and a third quest gives Lasswell his substory:

Sub quest Start Steps (RPG Site) Reward
The Shield of the Weak Charlotte, Grandport Harbor Talk to three NPCs at Grandshelt Castle, an event battle at Kolobos Ruins, a Magitek Weapon at the Cavern of Swords, report back Vision: Charlotte and a Magicite Cryst
The Twin Titleholders West side of the Gaberada inn Talk to NPCs on the east side, beat Adamandelion on the island northwest of Olderion, see the Gaberada Elder, then the Lost Cave north of Grandshelt Crest of Criticality and a stat boost for Lasswell
The Admirable Apprentice Ayaka, Town of Sian (after you get the Mt. Reizan objective) A scene at Waterfall Way, Ashasaur at the Infernal Hollow, Mt. Thunderclap, back to Ayaka Vision: Ayaka and a Magicite Cryst

Sources: RPG Site walkthrough, RPG Site sub quests.

The Town of Sian is a village of cherry trees and red bridges. In PLAYGAMES' run Sakura introduces Ayaka there as her former pupil, from the days when the town served as Sakura's hideout, and Ayaka asks whether they are already leaving. Ayaka is worth the detour: Game8 ranks her S tier, and her Resonance Angelic Embrace heals and cleanses (Game8, Oct 23, 2026); PowerPyx uses Ayaka's healing Resonance to farm the Resonance Rapid Fire achievement. See Best Visions. The Town of Sian's shops also carry better gear than earlier towns, according to RPG Site.

Mt. Reizan: Ignis and Alluvion

RPG Site lists Tablet Shard 89 at a southwest dead end and 90 under the bridge, plus two X-Ethers, a Magicite Cryst, a Resonance Stone and an Analysis Hammer on a secret path to the east; Tablet Shard 91 comes after the bosses. PowerPyx places the High-Power Generator (the second radar upgrade) in a chest on Mt. Reizan, while RPG Site has a merchant ship sell it for 60,000 gil in Chapter 8; look for it here first.

Ignis comes back wreathed in fire. RPG Site lists him as weak to Water, dropping a Flame Scroll II; the target label in Sirloin's run shows level 47. Nichol's water skills and Tidus's Resonance Blitz Ace (Water, per Game8) fit. In Sirloin's video the two Mt. Reizan bosses are separate battles, with Ignis first.

Alluvion fights on a cliff above a lake, surrounded by orbs of water. RPG Site lists Alluvion as weak to Lightning, dropping a Water Scroll II: Cloud's Ascension, Lightning's Zantetsuken and Ramuh are the Lightning options. In Chapter 3 Game8 suggested a high magic-defense tank with Monk's Prayer Beads against the same foe (Game8).

Back on the world map: Bahamut and the last radar finds

Bahamut can be fought any time in Chapter 7: board the airship, press Square while flying, talk to Evan at the wheel and choose to visit the Esper (PowerPyx). RPG Site warns of status effects and lists a Magicite Cryst as the drop. Bahamut is the ninth and last Esper, so this completes The Sovereigns of the Planet if you have the other eight; see Espers.

After Mt. Reizan, RPG Site lists the last radar finds: the Ancient Hammer southwest of Mobliz Shipyard, a Magicite Cryst near the Lost Cave, a High Caster west of Pharm and a Philosopher's Stone south of Zoldaad's Rebel Hideout. A merchant ship north of Grandshelt sells the Ancient Tome for 45,000 gil, and 89 Tablet Shards at Oblivion Palace get you the last Adamantite. The King Gil Snapper appears in Pharm from this chapter (Game8, Oct 23, 2026), and PowerPyx names it first for farming the 1,000,000 gil of Making Lid Proud; its first kill unlocks the achievement Struck Gold. See EXP, Gil and MRP Farming.

Forest Path: Tellus

RPG Site lists a Megalixir at the east dead end and Tablet Shards 92 and 93 on the Forest Path. Tellus is waiting at the end, still weak to Wind, and drops an Earth Scroll II this time. Sirloin's run shows him at level 49, glowing gold before the fight; Jake's wind attacks and Wind Resonances such as Zidane's Climax Edge are the usual answer.

Wandering Lands: Umbra

RPG Site lists a Silver Key at an east dead end on the second screen, Tablet Shard 94 on the left path of the second screen, Tablet Shard 95 after a cutscene, and an Elixir by the save point. Save there.

Umbra is the chapter's last boss, in front of a purple Crystal. PSU calls Umbra the leader of the Sworn Six (PSU, Oct 20, 2026). RPG Site lists Umbra as weak to Light, dropping a Demon's Ring; in Sirloin's run he is level 50, and the battle result shows 50,000 EXP, 21,000 gil, 390 MRP and the Demon's Ring. Light options include Cecil's Knight of Duality, which also puts a 50% barrier on the party, and Firion's Weaponsmaster (Game8). Clearing the chapter unlocks Past Glory, held by 0.4% of Steam players on Oct 25, 2026 (Steam).

Before you move on

The chapter ends back on the airship deck at night, and the screen reads "Chapter 7 Reckoning Complete". From here the story goes straight into Chapter 8.

  • Get Bahamut and both Visions now; Chapter 8 opens the rest of the endgame and its bosses expect a full roster.
  • Farm the King Gil Snapper if you are short on gil for the Chapter 8 merchant ships (Ancient Cloak 40,000 gil, High-Power Generator 60,000 gil, a Magicite Cryst for 50,000 gil, per RPG Site).
  • Nothing here can be missed; see Missables for the few exceptions sources list.

The story continues in Chapter 8 Walkthrough. The full route is on Walkthrough, and every boss is on Bosses.
