Espers
Final Fantasy Resonance has 9 Espers, summoned by Fina for 50 MP: Siren, Ramuh, Carbuncle, Titan, Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan, Odin and Bahamut. Siren joins with the story in Chapter 1; the other eight are found in Chapters 2 to 7, and all but Carbuncle must be beaten first.
Final Fantasy Resonance has nine Espers, the series' summons: Siren, Ramuh, Carbuncle, Titan, Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan, Odin and Bahamut. Only Siren comes with the story; you find the others in caves and dwellings on each continent and, except for Carbuncle, defeat them before they join (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). Fina calls them into battle for three turns (Game8, Oct 21, 2026). Square Enix's Pixel Trailer (Jul 17, 2026) ends with a rapid run of them: a blue sea serpent, a giant, Siren among musical notes, a horned beast in fire, a dark rider and an old man in a storm of lightning.

How summoning works
Fina is the party's summoner: she emerged from the Earth Crystal able to speak with Espers (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026), and Espers in battle are summoned by Fina (Nintendo Everything, Oct 20, 2026) and later by the eighth party member, who joins for good in Chapter 5 (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). KultZ's Complete Beginner's Guide, recorded in the demo, shows the game's tutorial card "Fina's Esper Summoning Ability" and then Siren appearing in a ring of fire and music. His advice: since an Esper acts for several turns before its final blow, think about when to bring it in and what you need from it.
Summoning costs 50 MP. The Esper fights beside the party for three turns, uses a finishing attack on the last and leaves (Game8, Oct 21, 2026); RPG Site calls the cost "a lot of MP" (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026). Only one Esper can be out at a time, which is why DualShockers calls a party with both Finas redundant (DualShockers, Oct 24, 2026). In IGN's early footage "Summon Esper" is a command in Fina's battle menu beside Attack, Skills, Defend and Items.
In IGN's boss gameplay, filmed in June 2026, Fina calls "Sing us a song, Siren", and Siren floats above the party while a golden wave of music sweeps over the enemy. An Esper on the field also changes how other systems behave: Game8 notes that Rain's counter build counters up to five times with an Esper out (Game8, Oct 24, 2026). PowerPyx finds Espers strong in the middle of the story but limited in the endgame (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). How their own power grows is not spelled out by the guides we use as of Oct 25, 2026. How summons fit with staggers and Resonances is on Combat.

| Carbuncle | Ruby Light: reflects magic | Ruby Cave, Olderion Federation | 3 | Solve the gravestone's riddle with three Ruby Fragments; no battle |

The first four (Siren, Ramuh, Carbuncle and Titan) come in Chapters 1 to 4; the other five come from Chapter 5 on, the chapter that opens with the airship (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). The route to each is on the chapter pages of the Walkthrough.
Siren and Ramuh
Siren is fought at the top of Siren's Tower at the end of Chapter 1 and joins as part of the story (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026); see Chapter 1 Walkthrough.
Ramuh waits in Mt. Thunderclap on Dirnado, reached from the upper path after the lower dungeon (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). IGN's footage shows the meeting: a towering figure warns the party to leave or face his wrath, Rain admits it is terrifying, Fina asks Ramuh to lend them his strength, and he answers that he will judge them all "by trial of lightning" before the fight begins. See Chapter 2 Walkthrough.
Carbuncle
Carbuncle is the one Esper you never fight: in Ruby Cave in the Olderion Federation a gravestone sets a riddle, and you bring it three Ruby Fragments in the right order (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). Its Ruby Light reflects magic, and IGN's combat guide warns that this includes white magic: with Reflect on your party, your own Cura can bounce off and heal the enemy. RPG Site recommends Carbuncle for the Colosseum's Brawler Battle 5 (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026).
Titan and the Gaia Hammer
Final Fantasy Resonance's earth Esper is Titan (Siliconera, Jul 17, 2026). He is sealed behind the Sealing Stone in the desert west of the Village of Kol, and only Lid's Gaia Hammer, the reward for Fledgling League Battle 5 at the Grandshelt Colosseum, can break it (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). Game8, PowerPyx and RPG Site put the Fledgling League in Chapter 4; GameRant says to reach Chapter 5 first, and advises bringing Wind attacks and leaving Earth ones behind for the fight (GameRant, Oct 20, 2026). Before launch RPG Site's summary of Square Enix's reveals named an earth Esper "Gaia", with an attack called Gaia's Wrath; the retail game's guides all call it Titan.
Ifrit, Shiva, Leviathan, Odin and Bahamut
- Ifrit (Hellfire) lives in a volcano in Zoldaad territory, reached by airship in Chapter 5.
- Shiva (Diamond Dust) is in a snowstorm on Mysidia's smaller western island, Chapter 5.
- Leviathan (Tsunami) is won in Olderion through Nichol's substory "Nichol's Duty", Chapter 5.
- Odin (Zantetsuken, which may kill outright) is the reward of the Gronoa sub quest "Iron Splitter", Chapter 6.
- Bahamut (Megaflare) is reached in Chapter 7 by talking to Evan at the airship's wheel, who offers to fly to him.
Source for all five: PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026. Bahamut also travels with the story's unnamed woman, who has a deep enmity toward Veritas (RPG Site, Jun 13, 2026).
Achievements
Esper's Covenant asks for help from three Espers, which 20.6% of Steam players had; The Sovereigns of the Planet asks for all nine, which 0.2% had (Steam, Oct 25, 2026). PlayStation counts The Sovereigns of the Planet as a Silver trophy (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). The full list is on Achievements and Trophies.

WalkthroughFinal Fantasy Resonance has a prologue and eight chapters, from Chapter 1, Tailing the Truth, to Chapter 8, Beyond Hope; each ends with a hidden chapter-clear achievement, the airship arrives between Chapters 4 and 5, and the only point of no return is the final teleport in the Crystal Tower.

Chapter 2 WalkthroughChapter 2 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Eternal Blue, takes the party to Dirnado, the Continent of Wind, through Dilmagia, Mt. Thunderclap, the Dwarven Forge and the timed Mobliz Shipyard to the Wind Shrine, where Aether (level 18, weak to Ice) is the last boss; Lid joins, Ramuh is an optional Esper, and clearing it unlocks Those Who Unite the Skies.

ColosseumFinal Fantasy Resonance's Colosseum opens in Chapter 4 in Grandshelt, the Royal Capital, with four leagues of five fights each: Fledgling (levels 25 to 32, Gaia Hammer), Brawler (Chapter 5, 40 to 48), Gladiator (Chapter 8, 55 to 70) and Champion (75 to 99, ending with Omega). The first three leagues each unlock an achievement; the Champion League is optional.
