Chapter 4 Walkthrough
Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Banner Oath, is set in the Zoldaad Empire: Mozul Station, the Timber Tracks, the Rebel Hideout, the Weapons Factory, the Underground Tunnel and Zoldaad Castle, with Ignis, the Emperor of Zoldaad and Dr. Lazarov (level 30, weak to Earth) as its bosses; Jake joins, the Colosseum opens, Titan becomes available, and clearing it unlocks Viva la Revolución.
Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Banner Oath, takes the party into the Zoldaad Empire and ends with Dr. Lazarov's defeat, after which the airship arrives. RPG Site's route runs through Mozul Station, the Timber Tracks, the Grandshelt Colosseum, the Zoldaad capital, the Rebel Hideout, the Weapons Factory, the Underground Tunnel, the castle dungeon and Zoldaad Castle (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026). In Sirloin's walkthrough, shown here, the screen reads "Chapter 4 - Banner Oath" with the goal "Go deeper into the tunnel". It is the last chapter before the game opens up: from Chapter 5 the airship makes most of the world reachable (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).

Spoilers for Chapter 4 follow.
Mozul Station and the Timber Tracks
The chapter begins on the rails: Mozul Station and the Timber Tracks come first in RPG Site's route, and Sirloin's run shows the party aboard a train. Gilgamesh turns up on the Timber Tracks, but only to talk; there is no fight (RPG Site). Game8 says to visit every location in Zoldaad once to unlock its fast travel points (Game8, Oct 24, 2026).
Game8's Chapter 4 party leans on Water, since many enemies here are weak to it: Rain with Cloud or Tidus, Lid with Terra, Nichol on Formations and Protectga, and Fina as a second caster (Game8, Oct 23, 2026). The chapter's Sanctums, Shantotto, Cecil and Y'shtola, are all in Zoldaad Empire Territory (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026); see Visions.
Colosseum, Gaia Hammer and Titan
The Colosseum opens in this chapter at Grandshelt, the Royal Capital: take the left path from the main square, behind two statues holding shields (GameRant, Oct 20, 2026). Game8 recommends the Fledgling League now; its five rewards are a Magicite Shard, an Adamantite, the Ancient Greatsword, another Magicite Shard and the Gaia Hammer (RPG Site; Game8). PowerPyx recommends level 27 for the second Fledgling fight, the Adamantite one (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).
The Gaia Hammer breaks the Sealing Stone west of Kol, behind which Titan waits; GameRant says to bring Wind and avoid Earth (GameRant). Game8, PowerPyx and RPG Site place this in Chapter 4, while GameRant says to reach Chapter 5 first; the Fledgling League's levels run from 25 to 32 (Game8, Oct 24, 2026), so it is the right time either way. See Espers.
Rebel Hideout and Jake
Jake joins in his room at the Rebel Hideout (Game8), and a "Fighting with Jake" tutorial follows. His kit revolves around Luck: his two-bar Limit Burst, Glücksschmied, scales with it, and Luck resets after use (Game8, read Oct 25, 2026). Lasswell's permanent dialogue choice also comes at the Rebel Hideout: MP +10, Strength +3 or Speed +3, and Game8 recommends Strength (GameRant, Oct 23, 2026). Jake's own choice is HP +30, Strength +3 or Stamina +3, again Strength for Game8; GameRant places it at Zoldaad Castle in Chapter 5, Game8 at the end of Chapter 4 after Lazarov.
Weapons Factory and Ignis
The Weapons Factory is a lava-filled plant. Its puzzle is to rotate the catwalks over the lava to lower the bridge (Game8); Sirloin's frames show the goal "Go deeper into the factory" over the molten floor.
Ignis is fought here, and the first two fights are scripted losses. The real fight is level 27 with 56,000 HP and weak to Water, and Carbuncle reflects his Firaga (Game8 boss list, read Oct 25, 2026). If you skipped Carbuncle in Chapter 3, its three Ruby Fragments are still in the Olderion Federation (PowerPyx).
Zoldaad Castle
In the castle dungeons, beat the guard who holds the master key and open every cell; a chest by the throne holds a weapon for Rain (Game8).
The Emperor of Zoldaad is level 30 with 52,000 HP, weak to Water. Kill his soldiers first and summon Carbuncle at once (Game8 boss list). In Sirloin's fight he stands at the top of the throne room steps behind a line of red-armored soldiers. Afterward Evan fights a one-on-one duel on the castle roof and gives up once he has taken enough damage (Game8).
Dr. Lazarov
The chapter's last boss is Dr. Lazarov, level 30 with 45,000 HP and weak to Earth. He fights alongside his experiments, which Game8 says to kill first: The Hunger v5 (weak to Light and Fire), Test Subject No. 9 (Water) and No. 999 (Wind) (Game8). Sirloin's frames show him calling it a "throwback" before The Hunger v5 and No. 999 appear, labeled in battle. RPG Site says the airship arrives right after his defeat; PowerPyx puts it at the start of Chapter 5, which is likely the same moment (RPG Site; PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).
Optional: Cave Masters and Cactuars
| Optional fight | Level | HP | Weak to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gogmagog (Cave Master) | 34 | 78,000 | Light, Wind |
| Pyroviper (Cave Master) | 37 | 89,700 | Water |
Source: Game8 boss list.
Both are above the story's level here; see Cave Masters. The first good MRP farm also opens: Cactuars in the southern Zoldaad desert give 220 MRP, 286 with a Stagger Finish Bonus (Game8, Oct 24, 2026); see EXP, Gil and MRP Farming. The 3 sandworms for Lid's Mechabo Evolved quest are in southern Zoldaad too (PowerPyx). PowerPyx adds that the 1,000-stagger achievement Keep Them on Their Toes tends to unlock around this chapter without grinding.

Before you move on
Chapter 5 starts in Zoldaad Castle Plaza with the goal "Board the airship outside the imperial capital", as PLAYGAMES' Chapter 5 video shows. Before that, collect the chapter's 16 Tablet Shards, finish the Fledgling League and Titan, and buy what you need, since shops refresh each chapter and some merchant stock does not return (RPG Site). Then go on to the Chapter 5 Walkthrough and Chocobo and Airship.
