Chapter 2 Walkthrough

Chapter 2 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Eternal Blue, takes the party to Dirnado, the Continent of Wind, through Dilmagia, Mt. Thunderclap, the Dwarven Forge and the timed Mobliz Shipyard to the Wind Shrine, where Aether (level 18, weak to Ice) is the last boss; Lid joins, Ramuh is an optional Esper, and clearing it unlocks Those Who Unite the Skies.

Chapter 2 of Final Fantasy Resonance, Eternal Blue, moves the story from Grandshelt to Dirnado, the Continent of Wind, and ends at the Wind Shrine with a fight against Aether. RPG Site's route runs through Dilmagia, Mt. Thunderclap, the Dwarven Forge, Mobliz Shipyard and the Wind Shrine (RPG Site, Oct 22, 2026). In PLAYGAMES' run, shown here, the chapter opens on the map of Dirnado with the goal "Go to Dilmagia". It is a shorter chapter than the first: that run takes about 2 hours 55 minutes against 4 hours 19 minutes for Chapter 1 and the prologue (Chapter 2 video; Chapter 1 video).

Spoilers for Chapter 2 follow.

Dilmagia and Lid

The ship lands at Dilmagia, the Machinopolis. Lid joins at the Dilmagia shipyard (Game8, Oct 23, 2026), bringing her Mechabo and the Commando role. GameRant lists her permanent dialogue choice at the Dilmagia Shipyard as Strength +3, Magic +3 or Stamina +3 (GameRant, Oct 23, 2026). The Dilmagia shops are where to restock; equipment shops refresh each chapter (RPG Site).

Game8's Chapter 2 party: Rain with the Warrior of Light or Noctis, Lasswell with Cloud, Fina with Tronn and Lid with Terra (Game8, Oct 23, 2026). All three Chapter 2 Sanctums, Zidane, Noctis and the Onion Knight, are on Dirnado (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026). The Outer Haven recommends getting Noctis, to the west, before the Wind Shrine, because his Ice spells are what Aether is weak to (The Outer Haven, Oct 20, 2026).

Mt. Thunderclap

At the foot of Mt. Thunderclap, Lid offers to show you an easy route for 1,000 gil. Paying builds a ladder shortcut to the end of the dungeon; Game8 says not to pay, because the long route gives more EXP and the shortcut's Cape of the Raiju and Tablet Shard can still be reached through the Back Entrance, and the choice has no effect on the story (Game8, Oct 21, 2026).

The mountain's boss is Liquid Thunder: level 13, 10,000 HP, weak to Earth. Game8 says to equip Fina with the Cape of the Raiju and to defend on the turn after it charges (Game8 boss list, read Oct 25, 2026). PLAYGAMES' frames show the yellow, glowing creature rising in the forest and the level 13 label in battle.

Ramuh, the chapter's optional Esper, waits at the peak. PowerPyx says to take the upper path after leaving the lower dungeon and touch the gravestone (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026); Game8 lists him at level 20 with 24,000 HP, weak to Earth, and suggests buying Earth Scrolls at the Dwarven Forge first (Game8). Coming back later is fine: every Esper stays available in free roam (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).

Dwarven Forge

The Dwarven Forge is where you meet Verun, and where Mom Bomb attacks: level 14, 21,000 HP, weak to Water. At low HP it splits into four bombs; Game8 says to stun or kill them once the self-destruct warning shows (Game8 boss list). In PLAYGAMES' fight the big red bomb gives way to several small ones near the end.

Mobliz Shipyard

Mobliz Shipyard is timed. Game8's advice: save before the timed section, flip Lever 16 (the central one) to restore the elevators, and avoid the Guardians at the exit (Game8). PLAYGAMES' run shows the countdown in the corner of the screen, at 14:17 when the frame was taken, and still running during the fights. The optional Guardian is level 25 with 10,000 HP, weak to Lightning, and Game8 says to skip it (Game8 boss list).

The shipyard ends with two machines. Epimetheus is a mini boss, level 16 with 3,645 HP and weak to Lightning; then Adrastea, level 16 with 25,000 HP, weak to Lightning and Water. Game8 says to bring Cloud for Ascension and Physical Counter (Game8 boss list). The frames show the tank-like Adrastea and a "Charge Wave Cannon" warning before the party's Resonance.

Sub quests that open

Game8 lists four sub quests in Chapter 2: Elven Maven, Arise Mechabo!, Mechabo Evolved and Lyrical Riddles (Game8). PLAYGAMES picks up Lyrical Riddles on the way back through the shipyard. The two Mechabo quests are the start of Lid's Mechabo upgrades, which add skills such as Mechabo Tackle and Overclock (Game8, same page), and of the Mechabo Mania achievement:

Step What to do
Arise, Mechabo! After the Mobliz Shipyard events, talk to Verun at the Dwarven Forge; bring 2 Dynamo Stones from the Ipooh bears outside
Mechabo Evolved Defeat 3 Dhorme Chimerae northeast of Grandport, 3 Medusae southwest of the Dwarven Forge, 3 Destroyers in western Olderion and 3 sandworms in southern Zoldaad
Mechabo Unleashed After Chapter 5: 3 Mahadevas on Mysidia's western island and 3 Malbodooms in western Gronoa, then talk to Verun on the airship

Source: PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026.

The Dhorme Chimerae are the only Mechabo Evolved targets you can reach now; PLAYGAMES fights them in the desert while the goal on screen still reads "Go to the Wind Shrine". The other three groups wait until Chapters 3 and 4 open their regions.

Wind Shrine and Aether

Deep in the Wind Shrine, Aether, Veritas of the Heavens, comes for the Wind Crystal (The Outer Haven, Sep 3, 2026). He is level 18 with 34,000 HP and weak to Ice; Game8 says to give everyone but Lasswell Ice (Tronn, Terra or Noctis) and to kill his summoned minions fast (Game8 boss list). The Outer Haven adds: stagger him with Cloud and heal through his Heavenly Wind Limit Burst (The Outer Haven). Sirloin's fight, shown here, opens with Aether at the green Wind Crystal. See Veritas for more on him.

The Cave Master on Dirnado is Shoggoth: level 25, 45,500 HP, weak to Earth and Water and immune to physical attacks by Game8's listing (Game8 boss list). It is meant for later; it drops Magicite scaled to its level (PowerPyx, Oct 21, 2026).

The free demo is a point of confusion here. Square Enix describes it as the opening through the end of Chapter 1 (Square Enix, Sep 9, 2026), while FinalBoss wrote that it runs through the Wind Shrine and Aether (FinalBoss, Oct 16, 2026); see Demo and Save Transfer.

Bosses in Chapter 2

Boss Where Level HP Weak to
Liquid Thunder Mt. Thunderclap 13 10,000 Earth
Ramuh (optional) Mt. Thunderclap peak 20 24,000 Earth
Mom Bomb Dwarven Forge 14 21,000 Water
Guardian (optional) Mobliz Shipyard 25 10,000 Lightning
Epimetheus Mobliz Shipyard 16 3,645 Lightning
Adrastea Mobliz Shipyard 16 25,000 Lightning, Water
Aether Wind Shrine 18 34,000 Ice
Shoggoth (optional Cave Master) Dirnado 25 45,500 Earth, Water

Before you move on

Pick up the 15 Tablet Shards PowerPyx counts in this chapter and turn them in at Oblivion Palace; Game8 says to visit regularly, since late turn-ins make the rewards less useful (Game8, Oct 22, 2026). Buy anything you want from Dilmagia's shops, then follow the story on to the Chapter 3 Walkthrough. Nothing in Chapter 2 is missable by PowerPyx's account: Visions, Espers, Cave Masters and Tablet Shards all stay available in free roam (see Missables).

Frequently asked questions

Should you pay Lid 1,000 gil in Final Fantasy Resonance? Game8 says no: paying only builds a ladder shortcut through Mt. Thunderclap, the long route gives more EXP, and the shortcut's Cape of the Raiju and Tablet Shard are still reachable through the Back Entrance. It has no effect on the story.

How do you beat Aether in Final Fantasy Resonance? Aether (level 18, 34,000 HP) is weak to Ice, so Game8 gives Ice Visions such as Tronn, Terra or Noctis to everyone but Lasswell and kills his summoned minions quickly. The Outer Haven adds staggering him with Cloud and healing through Heavenly Wind.

Where is Ramuh in Final Fantasy Resonance? Ramuh is at the peak of Mt. Thunderclap in Chapter 2: take the upper path after the lower dungeon and touch the gravestone. Game8 lists him at level 20, weak to Earth.

How does the Mobliz Shipyard timer work in Final Fantasy Resonance? The shipyard section in Chapter 2 runs on a countdown shown on screen. Game8 says to save first, flip Lever 16 to restore the elevators and avoid the Guardians at the exit.

When does Lid join in Final Fantasy Resonance? Lid joins in Chapter 2 at the Dilmagia shipyard, as a Commando with her Mechabo.
